ALEX STMROCK WONG
Alex STMROCK Wong is also known as singer/songwriter SingleTrackMind (STM). He was a professional jet ski racer in the Petronas Jet Sports Racing Team and has won numerous worldwide competitions, including the Australian Championship in 1996. His passion for photography and motorsports has led him to shoot many motor racing events, including F1, F3, Formula Asia and Karting. An adventurer by nature, Alex recently rode his motorcycle 30,000km across the length of the Americas and 16 countries, from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Alaska. USA. His book of photographs from this 65-day ride will be launched in December 2010. In 2008, he won The Asian Geographic Magazine Himalayas Expedition Photo Competition with a shot titled, ‘Village Girl’. Alex’s work has been featured in numerous publications including Asian Geographic, Bike, RPM, Motor Boat & Yacht and Going Places, amongst others. ALVIN LEONG
Alvin Leong is a certified Professional Photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and a member of the World Institute of Photographic Masters (WIPM). Alvin owns a studio, Alvin Leong Photography, located in the leafy suburb of Tabuan Jaya, Kuching Sarawak. The studio also houses a gallery of his works and collection of beautiful wedding gowns. In his keenness to share the art of photography, Alvin has given talks on photography and techniques at various educational institutions and has provided practical training for students pursuing photography courses. He is currently involved in a mentoring project with the Photography Club of a local high school. |

ALWYN TAY
Alwyn Tay was born in 1976 in Malaysia. He started to work backstage for movie making in 1993. In 2002, he trained at Taiwan & Culture Association and attended a film making training program held by Taiwan Film & Culture Association under Taiwan director Hou Hsiao-hsien projects. In the same year, he started to produce independent short films. He organized The Sarawak Film Society to promote the film in 2004. He won Asiana International Short Film Festival 2005 Awards 5 Minutes in the Air Award in Korea with his short film “a taste of Love”. In addition, the short film has been nominated in Romania for the Bucharest Short Film Festival in 2005. AZHARI RAHIM
Azhari Rahim was born and raised in Penang until he moved for boarding school in Selangor on 1998. He completed his degree in Multimedia University for Film and Animation. While he was doing his degree, he was more into film production rather than animation itself, AZHARI then joined production house as a production trainee for TV commercial ads and along the way, he has joined the camera crew and also lighting crew. After that he joined Limkokwing University in Cyberjaya as a multimedia lecturer. Currently stationed Limkokwing Borneo, Kuching where he’s plying his trade. CALAVIN LIM
Calavin Lim started training as Miscellaneous Crew (independent film) at the age of 22 and as Editor in independent film industry. He started his own independent film (Highway Story) in 2003 and followed by several more independent films (DV, Red Box, Beautifool Life). DV and Red Box were nominated in Astro Short Film Festival in corresponding year. He first joined commercialized movie entitled “Possessed” as Making of Director in 2006. Recently, Beautifool Love is his debut telemovie made for ASTRO. |

HO YUHANG
HO Yuhang was born and raised in Petaling Jaya. He took a degree in engineering at Iowa State University in the US, but opted for a career in TV production when he returned to Malaysia. In 1999, he made the six-part documentary series Semangat Insan: Masters of Tradition. His debut feature Min followed in 2003; it was financed by television and shot on digital video, but was invited to many film festivals as a film and won the Special Jury Prize at the Festival des 3 Continents in Nantes, France. His subsequent features and shorts have been invited to an ever-widening circle of festivals and have won several more prizes, including the NETPAC Award and the Tiger Award for Best Short at International Film Festival Rotterdam (from Sanctuary and As I Lay Dying respectively). In 2008, he was one of three finalists for Martin Scorsese’s mentorship in an arts initiative sponsored by Rolex. His latest film At The End of Daybreak haswon the NETPAC award for best Asian film in Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland and also the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2009 Taipei Golden Horse Awards. |

LISA YAP
Lisa Yap, an associate founder of ET Hub Sdn. Bhd., has managed to gather most of the multinational brand under the umbrella of the company and further expand her area of expertise to help all their clients to achieve what they wanted. Her recent establishment include a motion picture production house – Illusion Fecit Sdn. Bhd. As for her photography works, she has her Black Ribbon Studio, which portrays a lot of beautifully taken portrait shots directed by her. To further give more meaning to her photography skills, she started Manja Studio, which uses the art of creativity in a meaningful manner, charity. MA CHIAU RAN
Ma Chiau Ran, born in 1983, graduated from Multimedia University in 2007, withholding a Bachelor of Creative Multimedia (Degree), majoring Film & Animation. Ma has been actively involved in freelancing since he was studying in university and his involvements of works include Feature Film, Visual Effects, TV Commercial, 3D Animation, Short Film, Music Video and Corporate Video. In 2005, his directed short film BETRAY represented Malaysia and screened in the competition BUSAN UNIVERSIADE FOR DIGITAL CONTENT, Korea. He was THE MAKING OF video’s Director for the feature film “SAYANG YOU CAN DANCE” directed by Bjarne Wong in 2008 and in the same year, he was a junior compositor in DNA Studios for 3D Animation projects. In 2009, he was a 2nd Assistant of 2nd Unit Director of Photography Mr. Chau Kim Ming, a well-established Director of Photography in Hong Kong, for the feature film “Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa” directed by Yusri from KRU Studios. Currently, Ma owns ILLUSION FECIT SDN BHD, a company with 4 partners specialized in motion picture production, film marketing and distribution. |

WOO MING JIN
Woo Ming Jin, born on 5 August 1976, was a scholarship student for film and television production at the San Diego State University. His debut feature film Monday Morning Glory premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival in 2005 and was invited to the Pusan International Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival and Locarno International Film Festival in the same year. Ming Jin’s second film, The Elephant and The Sea in 2007 won several awards in international film festivals and has been invited to screen in more than 40 film festivals worldwide, while his third feature film Woman On Fire Looks For Waterhas been played at Venice and Rotterdam, among other festivals. The Tiger Factory, the new feature film by Ming Jin, has been selected for screening under the Directors’ Fortnight of the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. |

ZARINA ABDULLAH
Zarina Abdullah earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and went on to get her master’s degree in Information Technology from University College London. In 2003 she took an intensive course in film-making at the New York Film Academy School in London. After film school, she quickly embarked on her first feature film script the horror, Chermin, and in 2004 she was selected to attend the Berlinale Talent Campus. In that same year she set up Starry Eye Productions, an independent production company with her sister Ummi Khaltoum Abdullah and they began production of their first feature film in 2005. Chermin was screened at several international film festivals including the Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy and Fantasporto. The film was also the first Malaysian film to be screened at the biggest fantastic film festival in Asia, the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. Chermin was released in local cinemas in 2007 and also garnered several nominations and awards at the Festival Filem Malaysia where Zarina earned the Most Promising Director award. |
